Supporting families to get through the pandemic

Alisat washes clothes in her neighborhood to make a living and provide for her three young children. As a single mother, it has been tough for her to provide and care for her children during this time. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the country-wide lockdown, Alisat lost her income and found herself unable to feed her children. “I was depressed and angry since we had no food and I could not afford to pay my rent,” Alisat told us.

Because of your generosity Bwire, one of our community volunteers, was able to deliver food packages to help Alisat feed her family. We were also able to pay Alisat’s rent for the next three months.

“The community volunteer has been visiting us to check on us, I no longer feel alone,” Alisat told us. “My children are looking healthy, we have food and I am no longer stressed about rent."

Thanks to supporters like you, we have been able to support and provide hundreds of families just like Alisats with food and health supplies to help them through the pandemic.

Hear from Alisat herself on how her family has been supported to stay together during the pandemic in the video below.
