We are building lasting change - so that long after we are gone, families are protected and kept together
community volunteers were trained to support children
children from 334 families were given direct support to keep them together and safe
children with disabilities were given support
Oscar is the youngest of 7 children, and was born with a disability. One of our community volunteers connected Oscar's family to us. We helped Oscar receive lifesaving surgery, and empowered his family with a business start up.
“His face is filled with joy when he sees his brothers. He gets so happy when he hears them playing. When you call his name he starts laughing and smiling and opens his arms for you. Oscar is so full of life,” his mom told us.
MORE STORIES OF IMPACT
OUR LATEST IMPACT
We may be a small non-profit, but we have big impact. Through our work with governments, national partners and our worldwide network of supporters we are highlighting the harm and cost of orphanages in Uganda and globally. We have a decade-long track record proving that, no matter what, we always put children first in everything we do.
Over the past few years we have shifted our focus. We are making sure our work isn’t prioritising on perfecting our own delivery, but making sure we get the development and system strengthening right. This means that long after we are gone, community and Government structures will remain strengthened, and children will be protected. To us, impact isn't just another charity buzzword - it is the heart of our work.
