Today has been like an episode of ‘Location Location Location’ in Uganda.

Take a look at the houses we visited and my deliberate mistake on the video. For the record I meant ‘play’ not ’stay’!

We need to rent a temporary home from October 2009 so I don’t think any of the properties we looked at today will still be on the market but it was a great opportunity to see what we could get for our money.

We are currently writing our budget and we want our costings to be both detailed and accurate so supporters can see exactly where there money is going.

The document is a labour of love and everything has been accounted for – from the electricity bills to plastic cups – problem is the prices fluctuate so it is a constant work in progress!

Tomorrow is all about getting an idea of building material availability and costs. Being the daughter of a builder, I enjoy a bit of construction…probably a good thing as we have some grand designs up our sleeves.

It wasn’t until Dom spelt it out exactly what is involved that I realised what this really means. Altogether we’re talking 1,117m2 of buildings. In the UK, it costs around £1500 per square metre to build and costs around £1.7m. An architects fee is around 6%.

Basically, Dominic is donating over £100,000- worth of support.

I now get just how ‘kind’ he is.
